The term “Pigging” refers to the operation of forcing a flexible projectile, called a Pig, through a product transfer pipeline after a batch transfer has completed. The purpose is to push/recover all product residue remaining in the pipe to the destination tank or filler thus generating more product that can be packaged and sold as well as reducing waste output from the process.
